Site Ready for Content

It took a bit of time and work to get this multi-subdomain site configured, but I’m finally at the point where I can start pumping in content. I just finished uploading my little collection of Recipes - check them out! Absolutely delish.

Anyway - I am basically going to mirror most of the contents of the CTAHR booklet “Taro Varieties in Hawaii” in my list here, then indicate which ones I’m growing - or which ones I think I am growing as a few have identity anomolies. I’m about 30 of varieties currently - and am always looking for more. Hint hint. Anyway, this list will give ya’ll a good point of reference as well as a helpful identification key and hopefully I’ll be able to match up images to each one in time.

Now, just because I’m growing them doesn’t mean I have mucho to share/trade/sell yet - gimme more time. Kai kea and Bun Long have done well, but the rest have moped along. It’s been a tough few years getting all my babies situated - they’re getting a brand new growing setup this season - all the wetlands are getting their own bucket-lo’i for instance, a modified form of Barrelponics.

So, check back in the next few days. I hope to have most if not all of the varieties uploaded by this weekend. Sorry - no specimen pictures yet - I have lotsa group shots but lately I had been concentrating more on keeping these babies alive than giving them some individual glamour-shots. I will soon tho - they get particularly gorgeous in late Spring. Right now they look rather ratty - many are just corms - but I’m seeing a lot of keiki starting to poke up here and there.

A very exciting, but stressful time of year for me this is - I’m excited that things are starting to grow down in the greenhouse - but stressed at every corm that hasn’t shot up a keiki yet. I’ll keep ya’ll appraised here in my Babble Column.

Stumble it!
